Physicians use SpectraCell’s Functional Intracellular Analysis™ (FIA) tests to assess nutritional status of patients as a diagnostic aid. Unlike traditional serum, hair and urine tests, the FIA™ process measures how an individual’s white blood cells respond to varied environments of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. SpectraCell’s Lipoprotein Particle Profile™ (LPP) is an advanced lipid test assisting physicians in determining their patient’s cardiovascular risk. Standard cholesterol testing does not fully identify all patients at risk for cardiovascular disease. Instead of relying on cholesterol numbers, physicians need to look at both LDL (bad cholesterol) and HDL (good cholesterol) in depth. Specifically, it is important to understand the size, number, and density of LDL particles as well as HDL content to see a comprehensive view of a patient’s cardiovascular risk level.
