JOB TITLE: Assistant Controller
PURPOSE & SCOPE OF POSITION
To provide accounting management and supervision for the Finance Department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the Expenditure (AP) and GL functions.
Ensure accurate reconciliations of all GL accounts are completed accurately & timely.
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
Assist in preparation and completion of annual & quarterly financial and regulatory audits.
Assist with responses to requests from tax specialists to ensure accurate quarterly and annual provisions.
Manage flow of transactions through the international structure to ensure proper documentation is maintained and organized.
Manage general ledger account structure to ensure proper presentation of financial statements.
Actively participate in the implementation of best practices for accounting department.
Assist in the completion of special accounting related projects.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
BS or MS degree in Accounting
5-7 years of experience, including 3+ years of Big 4 auditor experience.
CPA, a plus
Strong understanding of US GAAP
International consolidation experience, preferred.
Pharmaceutical experience, a plus.
2+ year of supervisory experience.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
__Ability to articulate clearly & conduct verbal presentations with large and small audiences.
__Ability to travel via automobile and/or airplane.
__Ability to view video display terminal images < 18” away from face for extended period of time - up to four (4) hours at a time.
__Ability to operate a computer keyboard and telephone.
__Ability to sit for extended periods of time – up to four (4) hours at a time.
__Ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifteen (15) pounds.
