About the Opportunity/Requirements:
compress Clinical Veterinarian – Alice, Texas
SNBL USA is a leading contract research organization offering superior science, service and technology by providing a unique bundle of preclinical services to our worldwide clients. Our corporate office located in Everett, WA is supported by a specialized breeding facility located in Alice, Texas. SNBL USA is recruiting for a highly qualified and experienced individual to work in our new state of the art facility as a Clinical Veterinarian.
The Vet will examine, diagnose and treat laboratory animals intended for research studies and ensure compliance with regulations governing the humane and ethical treatment of laboratory animals. This position will work as part of a small team of Veterinarians and Technicians to ensure high quality animal care and breeding activities for our primate population.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Maintaining the overall health of research animal
•Maintaining compliance with USDA, AWA and local regulations.
•Assist in the design and implementation of the preventative medicine program.
•Provide training and staff oversight of technical procedures.
•Develop, review, revise and implement Standard Operating Procedures.
•Participate in the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
•Participate as a key leader in developing the new breeding facility.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
•DVM or VMD degree (or equivalent)
•License to practice veterinary medicine in Texas or eligible to obtain a license
•3+ years providing veterinary care for non-human primates
•ACLAM certification desirable
•Post-doc residency in lab animal/comparative medicine or other specialty training highly desirable
•Ability to interface effectively with clients, employees, federal, state, and local agencies
