The Lead Pathology Associate will directly supervise Pathology Associates and delegate responsibilities in conjunction with the Pathology Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Directs the pathology associates in the technical production of current protocols.
•Interprets protocol necropsy and trimming tasks and generates appropriate worksheets.
•Leads necropsy trimming processes; assigning specific technical duties to appropriate employees.
•Checks that all work processes have been maintained and completed on schedule.
•Verifies procedures have been signed and dated by assigned personnel.
•Assesses product quality and reprocessing procedures as needed.
•Coordinates work in special necropsy or trimming procedures. Researches new procedures and facilitates implementation.
•Ability to organize procedures initiated by pathologists and supervisory staff with the technical support. Evaluate initial quality of modifications and make appropriate changes when necessary to comply with current lab policies, SOPs, FDA, GLP, and other regulatory agencies.
•Provides technical evaluation for instrument purchase, performance, and maintenance.
•Performs duties and maintains control of the laboratory processes.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor of Science or related degree required.
•3+ years Biology laboratory experience.
•Experience in a Supervisory role preferred.
•Equivalent laboratory experience and supervisory skills for this job may be substituted for educational requirement.
