iCell Therapeutics Receives Support From the National Research Council's Industrial Research Assistance Program for Development of Cancer Treatment

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- iCell Therapeutics is pleased to announce that it has received support from the National Research Council of Canada's - Industrial Research Assistance P rogram (NRC-IRAP) for development of the company's LDE-TTX technology for treatment of Cancer. NRC-IRAP's contribution will support the scale up and pre-clinical development of iCell's LDE-TTX drug candidate. iCell has already completed several successful pre-clinical and clinical trials in Brazil which have demonstrated the safety of LDE-TTX.

The National Research Council approved iCell's application following an in depth familiarization with the LDE Technology and iCell's products, and a review of the Company's organizational and fiscal capability to carry on with the proposed program.

"The involvement of the NRC-IRAP in contributing to our scientific program will be fundamental in assisting us to bridge the financial needs associated with our drive towards commercialization of iCell's technologies. IRAP's support will allow the company to proceed more rapidly towards initiating clinical trials in North America," said Kito Tosetti, CEO and President of iCell Therapeutics. The total amount of NRC-IRAP's contribution for this program amounts to $219,998.
